Timor Single-Origin Coffee

This single-origin coffee grows in the forested backyards of farmers near East Timor’s tallest peak, Tatamailau. The rich soil and temperate climate contribute to the beans’ character and taste—complex with herbal notes and a cocoa finish. Timor coffee is in between medium-bodied and full-bodied, with an expansive taste and a bit more acidic than others. Our single-origin beans carry a smooth, velvety Arabica flavor, with the intense caffeine hit of a Robusta bean.

Timor Coffee Features:

  • Single Origin - 100% Timor Coffee: On the tiny island of Timor, all coffee is grown on small farms where the farmers have band together to improve production capacity.
  • Cupping Notes: Slightly spicy and herbal, with good acidity and an excellent body.
  • Processing and Roast Level: Coffee beans are wet-processed (or washed), where the fruit covering the beans is removed before they are dried, to ensure a clean taste and bright acidity. Our Timor beans are then given a Medium roast by one of Teasia's artisanal roasters.
  • Fresh Specialty Roasted Coffee: We roast all our coffee beans in small batches using the most advanced (and environmentally friendly) technology available. All freshly roasted beans are packed and sealed within 24 hours to ensure maximum freshness and quality.
  • Storage and Brewing: To preserve the fresh roasted flavor of your Timor coffee beans, store in an air-tight container (or very tightly seal the bag), and keep in a dark and cool location. For best results, grind your Teasia coffee no more than 15 minutes prior to brewing!

Timor Coffee Roast Options:

Light Roast

Light roasts are light brown in color, with a light body and no oil on the surface of the beans. Light roasts have a toasted grain taste and pronounced acidity. The origin flavors of the bean are retained to a greater extent than in darker roasted coffees. Light roasts also retain most of the caffeine from the coffee bean.

Medium Roast

Medium roasted coffees are medium brown in color with more body than light roasts. Like the lighter roasts, they have no oil on the bean surfaces. However, medium roasts lack the grainy taste of the light roasts, exhibiting more balanced flavor, aroma, and acidity. Caffeine is somewhat decreased, but there is more caffeine than in darker roasts.

Dark Roast

Dark roasted coffees are dark brown in color, like chocolate, or sometimes almost black. They have sheen of oil on the surface, which is usually evident in the cup when the dark roast coffee is brewed. The coffee’s origin flavors are eclipsed by the flavors of the roasting process. The coffee will generally have a bitter and smoky or even burnt taste. The amount of caffeine is substantially decrease
